Rent a Car in Salou, Spain

Salou is a compact destination: the Jaume I promenade, Llevant and Ponent beaches, and the town centre are all perfectly walkable. But the area's biggest draw, PortAventura World, sits on the outskirts of town, and getting between the resort, the beach and neighbouring towns is where a hire car makes the real difference over relying on tourist buses with limited schedules.

Tarragona, with its Roman amphitheatre and UNESCO-listed old town, is about 20 minutes away via the T-11 motorway. Cambrils, with its fishing harbour and seafood scene, is 10 minutes south. And if you want to venture a little further, Reus, birthplace of Gaudi, or the wine cellars of Priorat, under an hour inland, round out a Costa Dorada itinerary that public transport would turn into a multi-transfer ordeal.
