What to know before you drive from Alcudia

  • Cap de Formentor access restrictions. In peak season (July–August) the road to Cap de Formentor is restricted to vehicles with a prior parking reservation or guests staying at the Formentor hotel. Book the car park online before you go — or take the shuttle bus from Port de Pollença instead.
  • Ma-10 Tramuntana road is spectacular but slow. The main mountain road along the northwest coast is one of Europe's great drives — and one of its narrowest in places. Allow double your sat-nav estimate and avoid large or wide vehicles.
  • Albufera is flat and easy. The S'Albufera nature reserve just south of Alcudia has well-signed roads and a car park at the entrance. It's a 10-minute drive from the resort — easy for a morning visit.
  • Alcudia market on Tuesday and Sunday. The old town market draws crowds and parking fills early. Walk from your hotel or arrive before 9 a.m. if you're driving in.
